About Life Celebrations

Life Celebrations honors the lives of community members in Northern California and beyond. Developed in Silicon Valley by the Metro.Agency team, the platform partners with community newspapers whose heritage dates to the 19th century, including the Pajaronian (1868), Gilroy Dispatch (1868), Hollister Free Lance (1873), Healdsburg Tribune (1888) and King City Rustler (1901). Historic editions of these newspapers are archived in the United States Library of Congress.

Contributors can upload a finished obituary to commemorate a loved one, or use our guided tools to create one without writing it from scratch. These tools use artificial intelligence, so please review the results carefully before approving.

In addition to online obituaries, Life Celebrations arranges publication in community newspapers, creating a permanent printed record of a person's life. A framable keepsake copy is available for purchase.
